Welcome. I'm Narelle Hanratty. I’m a philosopher and sock (and baby-jacket) knitter. I've also got a thing about leadership. I trained in the thinking of the philosopher, Martin Heidegger. When I submitted my thesis I thought “Phew! Never again will I have to deal with that man or that level of difficulty in my life.” Little did I know Heidegger had not done with me yet ... As a result of Herr H, I sometimes do some hard-core thinking here, so it's not for the faint-hearted this blog. In October 2011, I started The Leadership Project. It's about growing a conversation on what leadership can be and what it makes available. I am writing a book on the topic with the working title, “Leadership for non-leaders”. I believe we are all leaders and have greatness within us. What interests me are the circumstances in which this natural capacity is called forth, and how it shows up.
